Authentic 1950s crinoline that's substantial (and beautiful) enough to wear as a skirt. Crisp mocha brown fabric (it's neither gold nor orange) with soft black lace below a narrow band of black velvet. Coppery netting at the hem provides fullness. So gorgeous. Imagine it with a black velvet or lace top. From the estate of the sartorially gifted Dorothy E.
Note that this crinoline coordinates perfectly with Dorothy's exquisite . It was likely made to go with it. if you'd like both items. We're happy to offer the set at a discount.
Labels: none - looks to be home sewn (Dorothy was a skilled seamstress)
Fiber/Care: unmarked, feels like acetate with nylon lace and netting, dry-cleaning recommended
Condition: two pin-holes in the main skirt and a small hole along the top of the channel holding the elastic. the elastic itself has lost most of its stretch. an open section of the channel allows the elastic to function as a slightly stretchy drawstring. if you'd prefer, you could easily replace the elastic and stitch the open section closed (for a less-adjustable, more-custom fit at the waist).
Garment Measurements:
waist: adjusts to max. 38"/96.5cm
hips (at seam): max. 42"/106.5cm
length: 26"/66cm
